How to
Upload Your Vilko.NET Website in Dreamweaver MX
Before beginning
ensure that you have your Vilko.NET username and password handy.
If you do
not please contact me at jon@thorsvik.org before continuing.
Open
Dreamweaver MX by clicking "Start" > "All Programs"
> "Macromedia" > "Dreamweaver MX"
Next create a new site
by clicking the menu "Site" > "New Site"
Enter a name for the
site and click "Next".
Select "No,
I do not want to use a server technology" and click "Next".
If you have already created
some of the files for your website please select that folder now, otherwise
just click "Next".
Select "FTP"
from the drop down list, then fill in the form like in figure 6 replacing
the username and password with the ones you were given.
Now click "Test
Connection" if it seems nothing happened you are all set, so click
"Next". If on the otherhand you receive an error like this
check that you typed everything correctly taking note that case matters. If
you are sure you have entered everything correctly and still you get an error
please contact me.
Click "Next"
after making sure "No, do not enable check in and check out"
is selected.
